         O n Sunday, August 24, 2002 approximately twenty-five descendants of Henricus and Mary Thiels met together near Lecompte, Louisiana. A m Sonntag, 24. August 2002 rund 2005 Nachkommen von Henricus und Mary Thiels trafen sich in der Nähe Lecompte, Louisiana. Those present were there to represent the five children of Henricus and Mary. Diese waren es um die 05 Kinder von Henricus und Maria. From those children came the five lines of lineage that is now responsible for more than five hundred direct descendants! Von den Kindern kamen die fünf Linien der Abstammung, die nun für mehr als fünfhundert direkten Nachkommen!
         One purpose of the meeting was to discuss a possible reunion of the family during 2003. Ein Zweck des Treffens war die Erörterung einer möglichen Wiedervereinigung der Familie im Jahr 2003. This would be in celebration of one hundred and twenty years since Henricus and Mary arrived with their children to begin a new life in a new land. Dies wäre in der Feier der hundert und zwanzig Jahren, die seit Henricus und Mary kamen mit ihren Kindern zu beginnen, ein neues Leben in einem neuen Land.          The second purpose of the meeting, was to discuss the importance of preserving the history and heritage of the Thiels Family. It took so much courage for Henricus and Mary Thiels, and all of the families like them, to leave behind their home and family and bring five young children thousands of miles across an ocean to a new country. Er hat so viel Mut für Henricus und Mary Thiels, und all die Familien, wie sie, zu hinterlassen, ihre Heimat und Familie und die 05 kleinen Kindern Tausende von Kilometern quer über den Atlantik in ein neues Land. Many hardships faced them. Viele Schwierigkeiten konfrontiert. Just one of the many was the fact that they spoke no English and had to work hard to make a new life. Their belief in hard work and pride in accomplishment is a trait of our family that many in our community recognize.          This organization will be similar to the De Familie Thiels in Belgium that has more than two-hundred members. Diese Organisation wird ähnlich wie die De Familie Thiels in Belgien, hat mehr als zwei hundert Mitglieder. We have chosen to name our group, The Louisiana Chapter of Thiels of the World Organization. Wir haben den Namen unserer Gruppe, die Louisiana Kapitel Thiels von der World Organisation. Its purpose will be to preserve our heritage and to provide opportunities for fellowship within our family.  Finally, we decided that we must have a presence on the World Wide Web. Sein Zweck ist die Erhaltung unseres Erbes und die Möglichkeiten für die Gemeinschaft innerhalb unserer Familie. Schließlich haben wir beschlossen, dass wir müssen eine Präsenz im World Wide Web.
         The purpose of our site is two-fold. Der Zweck unserer Seite gibt es zwei Seiten. First, it will provide a medium to present our lineage to the world. Erstens wird es ein Medium, unsere Linie für die Welt. Second, it will provide a cost effective way to communicate with members on a global scale and to provide members with a tool to complete organizational tasks.  Zweitens wird es eine kostengünstige Art und Weise der Kommunikation mit den Mitgliedern auf globaler Ebene und die Mitglieder mit einem Werkzeug zum organisatorischen Aufgaben.
