O n Sunday, August 24, 2002 approximately twenty-five descendants of
Henricus and Mary Thiels met together near Lecompte, Louisiana. E l domingo, 24 de agosto de 2002, aproximadamente veinticinco

One purpose of the meeting was to discuss a possible reunion of the

would be in celebration of one hundred and twenty years since Henricus

The second purpose of the meeting, was to discuss the importance of
preserving the history and heritage of the Thiels Family. El

took so much courage for Henricus and Mary Thiels, and all of the
families like them, to leave behind their home and family and bring

This organization will be similar to the De Familie Thiels in Belgium

purpose will be to preserve our heritage and to provide opportunities
for fellowship within our family. Finally, we decided that we

global scale and to provide members with a tool to complete
