By 1883, Henricus's only brother, Augustinus, was married and had started to raise a family. Por 1883, Henricus el único hermano, Augustinus, estaba casado y había comenzado a formar una familia. Upon arrival in the port of New Orleans, Henricus Thiels and family made their way; it is believed, by covered wagon to Many, Louisiana. On January 19, 1884, Henricus Thiels contracted to purchase 240 acres of land for $800 from Monroe F. Blevins. On January 6, 1902, Henry Thiels put up $200 bond as security for the marriage license between John Shall Thiels (Joannes Michael) and Louisa Fillette.
